As soon as Microsoft launched the windows 8, the screenshots of windows 8 made the users desperate and eager to purchase this new operating system. But as the users installed this new operating system on their systems, non touch screen users felt very disappointed. Since, the complete windows presented a handful of entertainment and featured items to touch screen users, it was accepted with a great delight. TOO many bugs compelled Microsoft to redesign its windows in the form of windows 8.1. Again windows 8.1 was, in fact, a way to update the buggy winows 8 but it didn't too much surprised users. To encounter this situation, People thought that windows 9 would be the next step ought to be taken by Microsoft. But Microsoft surprised the whole world by announcing that the name of the next OS would be Windows 10 or Windows Threshold. In fact, The launch of windows 10 must be celebrated as the independence day of the whole world! Why?!! Here is a list of the expectations which were fulfilled or which were broken into peices....
1) Return of the much awaited start menu:-
After a handful of bad reviews from users of microsoft windows 8 and 8.1 about the unfamiliar start screen, Microsoft has finally decided to introduce an option to the users to choose between start menu and start screen. According to us, start screen created a new era for the old start menu in the previous versions of windows. It was a method to make complete and extensible use of graphics and hardware acceleration. This was the expectation of almost every user of windows 8 (except me) which is fulfilled.
2) Freedom to launch metro apps in windowed mode:-
This thing changed the complete look of the window 8 as no one expected this feature. Finally, Microsoft decided to FREE the users to run the metro apps in full screen (windows 8 and 8.1 style) or windowed mode (windows 10 style!!!). Obviously mixed reviews against this addition is presented before us. We leave this decision to you whether to accept it sweetly or reject it sourfully!!!When you launch a Store app, it opens in windowed mode having titlebar similar to Desktop programs.
3) New "Alt + Tab" featured interface:-
From Windows XP, Microsoft is continously (and still) trying to introduce a new interface every time they introduce a new version of their OS. This time also they have presented a good and improved UI (User Interface) of "Alt + Tab". This was the expectation (I expect) of every user of Windows.
4) GOogLE Android Resemblence in many ways:-
Firstly, Microsoft has launched new notification panel which resembles google android interface in many ways. It presents a new way to present the new notifications whose screenshot is provided to you.
Secondly, Battery saver is the same as that of the power saving mode in android devices. When Battery Saver mode is on, it shows its icon next to battery icon in Taskbar notification area (system tray). on its functionality, It limits the background apps and use of screen in terms of Brightness and timeout.
Thirdly, the new Data Sense (Data Usage) feature helps users to monitor their internet usage. It has probably been a much awaited and demanded feature.
Fourthly (lastly!!!), The windows cortana Which performs the operations as the user speakes them on the use of the mics.
5) New Command Prompt!!!:-
Moving on to the part of developers, It is observed that Microsoft has launched a brand new command prompt aka console window. Much demanded features like copy paste in the console window are activated now (at last!!!). Also, Text wrapping on Resize is now available.
6) Additional options on the taskbar:-
Microsoft has finally decided to curb the long way (which is not actually long) to search something. Now the search option is available on the taskbar near to the windows logo. Additionally, Task view option is also available beside the search button.
7) Few minor UI fixes:-
It seems that Microsoft is still improving the aero snap feature and the other stuff such as the shadow effect, thin border in program windows, introduction of new icons, new homepage along with new animations (Phew!!!!).
That's all for now. We would like to hear you and respond to you as much as possible. Please leave us with a comment, suggestion, question or etc.!!!
